Fire and Sweet Go Together in Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka

South Carolina. There are so many things to say about this state – both good and bad. Lets start with the bad:

  1. Low requirement for high school education.
  2. Too many confederate flags proudly displayed. (could be related to #1)
  3. Always trying to pass stupid laws like “No Profanity”.
  4. Miss South Carolina. Remember that?

Now let’s go with the good.

  1. Governor Sanford went all the way to Argentina to get himself a mistress.
  2. Firefly Distillery

I only have two good things to say about it off the top of my head, but that last one was just brought to my attention during a recent party in North Carolina. Out came a jug of sweet tea-colored liquid. I thought it was an interesting choice; who would bring sweet tea to party? I was later told that it was vodka-infused sweet tea. Oh. Interesting. How do you drink something that already tastes great? Some say that mixing it with lemonade will make it even more heavenly, but I opted with diluting it with water since I don’t like my alcoholic beverages too sweet.

Here’s some little insight on the company, Firefly Distillery, that has brought us this tasty nectar. The distillery is located on Wadmalaw Island, located south of Charleston, South Carolina. If you check their website they not only have Sweet Tea Vodka, but also Raspberry, Peach, Mint, Lemon, Muscadine wine, and plain-flavored vodka. Martha Stewart actually gave props to the company for its Firefly Muscadine Vodka in 2006. In 2008 the company added its delicious Sweet Tea Vodka and it is the only one I have tried.

Buy some of their merchandise here. The hoody isn’t that bad. Later.
